Jake Knievel - Front Ensemble Coordinator

Jake Knievel is a musician, educator, arts administrator, and library worker in the southeast Idaho region. With a diverse background in music, Jake has performed in many ensembles as both a percussionist and bassist. Jake’s performance experience in the marching arts includes groups such as Blue Knights, Seattle Cascades, North Star Independent, and Broken City Percussion.

Jake has worked with Century High School as a percussion teacher and front ensemble specialist since 2015, seeing tremendous growth in the program over the years. Currently, Jake is the percussion coordinator at Century and Front Ensemble Caption Manager at the High Desert Marching Band. Jake previously served as an instructor with North Star Independent as front ensemble staff and music ensemble manager, overseeing the group’s first year competing at WGI World Championships, taking 10th place in the Independent A division finals.

Jake has also taught with the ISU Bengal Drumline. When not teaching, Jake works as a library specialist at the Marshall Public Library in Pocatello and as the Education and Outreach Manager with the Idaho Falls Symphony. Jake holds a bachelor’s degree in music with a minor in political science from Idaho State University.
