Matthew Larsen - Battery Coordinator
Matt Larsen has been involved in marching percussion in East Idaho for 20 years. He began playing at Highland High School, where he played bass drum for 4 years before going on to march with the Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps from Casper, Wyoming. Matt performed with the Troopers from 2005 to 2008 and had the opportunity to learn from world-class educators like Nick Angelis, Brian Stevens, Kevin Welborn, Matt Little, and Ralph Hardimon, among many others. After drum corps, Matt went on to play snare at Idaho State University.
Matt has had the opportunity to work with many high schools in the area, including Highland HS, Century HS, Idaho Falls HS, Hillcrest HS, Bonneville HS, Blackfoot HS, and Ogden HS. He also taught with Portneuf Valley Drumline, Troopercussion Indoor, and North Star Independent, where he helped lead the group to a top-10 finish at World Championships in Dayton, OH.
Currently, Matt works with the Century High School Marching Band and Rift percussion in Pocatello, along with camps/clinics at many other high schools in the area. He lives in Idaho Falls with his son, and works in construction management.
